Fun Fact

I’ve been volunteering at a railroad museum since 2018, where I work as a locomotive engineer and conductor and help maintain and restore historic railroad equipment.

Positions Held at Silvi

I started as a Logistics Intern in 2024 and now serve as a Logistics Leadership Development Professional.

Current Responsibilities

As a Logistics Leadership Development Professional, I assist with rail logistics for slag and cement shipments throughout Silvi’s network. My responsibilities include monitoring railcar schedules, helping coordinate loading operations at our terminals, and supporting the flow of materials from plants to customers. I work closely with terminal managers, dispatch, and production teams to make sure railcars are moved efficiently and safely, and that our supply chain stays ahead of customer demand. This role gives me the opportunity to combine my interest in rail operations with hands-on logistics experience in a fast-moving environment.

Why I Chose Silvi Materials

I chose Silvi Materials because I wanted to apply my supply chain knowledge in a position where I could see the tangible outcomes of my work. Starting as a Logistics Intern in 2024 allowed me to do just that by acting as a ready-mix dispatcher, becoming an integral part of what it takes to get concrete poured. Shifting to rail logistics during my internship accomplished this same goal as I am able to oversee and be a part of the active and growing process of shipping and loading railcars. Additionally, I have always been interested in having a railroad-related career, so having the opportunity to work with rail logistics here at Silvi Materials was very appealing to me.

Favorite Silvi Memory

So far, my favorite Silvi memory has been seeing the expansion of our rail shipping over the past year. Through my time at Silvi, I’ve been involved in changes to our rail customer base, loading techniques, and tracking capabilities, all of which have improved and evolved over time. It has been impressive to watch how our rail operations continue to grow, and I’m proud to be a part of that progress.
