At Silvi Materials’ recent Driver Rodeo + Employee Picnic at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean took on a new challenge: driving a Silvi concrete mixer in our rodeo championship.

After a quick tutorial from one of our best drivers and trainers, Mardis Hinton, Cooper competed in four skills tests designed to measure precision and control: knocking footballs off cones, lining up field goals, braking at the “train tracks,” and a timed balloon smash.

When the scores came in, Cooper tied for sixth place with 70 points, holding his own against Silvi Materials’ professional drivers. Chad Duffield earned the championship win with 130 points, followed closely by Kidanny Santiago and Rogelio Morales-Palillero at 125. All three top finishers are headed to the NRMCA’s 19th Annual National Mixer Driver Championship this October to compete against more than 100 ready-mix drivers from across the country.

The full video is now live, capturing Cooper’s run from start to finish, including his reaction afterward: “That was a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be, but I felt like I did all right once I got the hang of it.”
