Positions Held at Silvi

I started in the Career Development Program and now work as a Quality Control Technician at our South Plainfield plant.

Current Responsibilities

I’m the QC Technician at Silvi’s South Plainfield plant. Each day, I run gradations and moisture tests for our stone and sand, ensuring all materials meet the specifications required for both routine deliveries and high-profile DOT projects. I also strip and label cylinders that need to be sent for strength testing in Morrisville. My role combines hands-on fieldwork, technical testing, and problem-solving, and I enjoy being part of a team that ensures our products perform the way our customers expect.

Why I Chose Silvi Materials

I chose Silvi because I was interested in the Career Development Program and the opportunity to learn multiple sides of the business. After joining, I quickly realized there is much more to Silvi than just concrete—there is a strong team of knowledgeable, experienced people who are always willing to teach and help. Being surrounded by teammates who trust me with important responsibilities has motivated me to grow, learn, and take pride in the work I do every day.

Favorite Silvi Memory

Some of my favorite memories working at Silvi have been visiting job sites and seeing the impact of our materials firsthand. I’ve been part of some of the coolest projects in the region, including a 3,500-yard Carson pour in Philadelphia, a 60-story high-rise with Forsa, and the Palatial job in Long Branch right along the beach. Being there in person and watching our work come to life has been both exciting and inspiring.
