Positions Held at Silvi
I started as an intern at the Linden and East Newark locations, advanced through the Leadership Development Program in East Newark, and now serve as Assistant Plant Manager at Newark.
Current Responsibilities
My current position is Assistant Plant Manager at the Newark location. My main responsibilities include overseeing production and plant personnel. This includes preventative maintenance and walking the plant multiple times a day to ensure everything is running smoothly. Along with focusing on production, I also help drivers throughout the day with problems they may run into—whether it’s resolving issues at job sites or teaching new drivers about the different mixes they get loaded with, so they understand the products they are delivering.
Why I Chose Silvi Materials
I applied to Silvi because I saw an opportunity as a college student to gain hands-on experience in the production side of the concrete industry. Along with learning valuable skills, I saw a lot of potential for long-term growth within the company—and that’s exactly what I’ve found. Silvi’s environment encourages learning, responsibility, and continuous improvement, and those values made it the right place for me to begin my career.
Favorite Silvi Memory
My favorite memory has been helping train the next generation of interns and LDPs. It’s rewarding to watch them grow and succeed because it reminds me of my own start at Silvi and how my mentors helped shape me into the employee I am today. Being able to pass that knowledge forward has been one of the most meaningful parts of my role.
