The Silvi Group Companies announces the acquisition of 572 permitted mining acres

Sahara Sand of Port Norris a division of The Silvi Group Companies announces the acquisition of 572 permitted mining acres located in Commercial and Downe Townships, Cumberland County, NJ. The acquisition adds significant permitted reserves adjacent to Sahara Sand ‘s existing 788 acre sand and gravel deposit which was acquired in December 2019 from Ricci Bros. Sand Co. This acquisition brings Silvi’s total reserves in Cumberland county in excess of 40 million tons over 1360 acres.

Sahara Sand is in the process of installing a 2,000,000 ton per year construction grade sand plant at the site. In addition to the mining property Silvi also bought a port property in nearby Bivalve in December 2019 giving them the ability to ship sand & gravel by barge from The Delaware Bay to points up and down the east coast.
