Silvi Materials Expands AI-Driven Quality Control Technology Across Ready-Mix Fleet
Silvi Materials is expanding its use of advanced concrete technology through a fleetwide deployment of Giatec’s MixPilot™ and SmartMix™ platforms across more than 360 ready-mix trucks.
The rollout follows a successful pilot program and reflects Silvi’s continued investment in quality, consistency, and operational excellence across its growing ready-mix concrete network.
For a company operating at Silvi’s scale, quality control is not just about testing concrete at a single point in the process. It requires accurate information, connected systems, and the ability for teams across QC, dispatch, operations, and leadership to work from the same real-time data.
That was a key factor in Silvi’s decision to move forward with Giatec.
“From the moment we began the pilot, MixPilot performed beyond what we expected, and that says a lot, given the scale and complexity of what we run here at Silvi,” said Tim Hurtack, VP of Quality Control at Silvi Materials. “The accuracy of the data and the depth of the reporting completely changed how we think about concrete quality control. We went from siloed information across multiple systems to a single source of truth that our QC team, dispatchers, and leadership can all act on in real time.”
MixPilot provides in-transit slump monitoring using non-invasive sensor technology, giving Silvi greater visibility into concrete performance during delivery. SmartMix adds an enterprise quality control platform that connects real-time truck data with mix design and QC workflows.
Together, the systems support a more integrated approach to concrete quality management, linking data from production, delivery, and quality control into one connected process.
“MixPilot is a powerful tool for slump management, but the integration with SmartMix is what makes this a complete solution,” Hurtack added. “We’re not just improving one part of our process; we’re building an integrated QC ecosystem.”
For Silvi Materials customers, this investment supports what matters most on the jobsite: dependable service, consistent material performance, and confidence that each load is backed by a disciplined quality control process.
The deployment also reflects Silvi’s broader commitment to using technology where it can make a meaningful operational impact. As the company continues to grow across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and North Carolina, integrated systems like MixPilot and SmartMix help support consistency across a larger, more complex network.
